This is fucking stupid. Just regulate both... Not using plastic doesn't justify eating meat and not eating meat doesn't justify using plastic. Simple as that

perfect to set priorities to save our planet ; but stop eating meat and stop plastic are both important because it's a different kind of pollution : - Meat : it's almost 50% of the CO2 emission (growing animals, growing vegetables to feed them, transport, etc) so it's about stopping climate change and not make the planet warmer (which will kill us all at the long run) - Plastic : it's about stopping the ocean's pollution (litterraly filled with plastic and microplastic than kill all water animals and planktons) It's possible to do both, and a lot more ;)

Plastic is really easy to manufacture and takes very little energy to do so. Also plastic is amazing at preserving food which takes energy to make aswell. And as we know energy = C2O emissions. If you think using cotton bags instead of plastic bags is better well, think again. That's just marketing for cotton bags. "Stop using plastic" is just a terrible idea. It's about using it properly, recycling and doing proper packaging. And obviously not dumping everything in the sea. This is why I don't like the green parties and movements, they just can't see the complexity and and up making things worse.

Actually the meat make more problems than plastic since we could end the hungry in the world without meat. Plus, you can stop or reduce meat and plastic. I bet American post.

Stupid. In my country (Sweden) we have no landfills, no plastic bags are entering the ocean except the once we throw there. But a close relationship with nature and a ton of propaganda the last three generations have made us very cleanly. All plastic that is not recycled is burned and made into energy. The meat industry is the biggest contributor to greenhouse gasses. Of course you should do both though.

Do you know that it's impossible to not use plastic? Even clothes are made of it (usually polyester). Stop act like hippies and let material engineers find new materials and new recycling methods.

Plastic is actually not that bad for the envoirenment people just need to stop throwing their garbage into the sea and recycle it instead.

First thing people need to realize is, that you can try to do your best every single day. Maybe you just like to eat a good burger sometimes and maybe you have to use a plastic bag, because you don't have another choice. That doesn't mean you fucked up and weren't able to do something for the environment anymore. Just try to eat less meat and use less plastic overall. You don't have to be vegan or completely stop using plastic for the rest of your life - Try to eat meat only 2 days a week and use your plastic bags multiple times, instead of throwing them away after one use. That's a little less extreme and will still help the environment. Some people act like "Oh, I can't manage to go vegan and sometimes I still use plastic, so fuck it, I won't change anything at all." ... but little things/trying to do something positive as often as you can is still better than doing nothing.

okay, i have to say some things: 1: i know plastic is neccesary to our society in some specific cases, i just criticize the fact EVERYTHING is selled in plastic or directly made in plastic only because is cheaper. That's unnecesary. 2:Eating meat is not bad, but it's the way the animals where producted. The meat industry is oversized and inhuman, and the defosetation for build more massive farms it's a serious trouble. 3:plastic in the oceans and 3 world counties is a real problem too, if the overproduction of plastic where reducted, the few plastic objects can be easly recicled. 4: I just make fun about veg people who critize me for using leather jackets while they buy everything in plastic and didn't even try to recycle, double moral is a serius problem, and EXTREME capitalism will bring us soon to a fall of our society eventually, probably replaced with some type of pseudo-feudalism at pure mad-max style.
